5 Things to Know Today: Hula Lessons, Toastmasters, Leap Year Day

Hula Lessons, Toastmasters Club, Leap Year Day and more in "5 Things to Know Today."

Leap Year: That's right! Today is a Leap Year Day. Feb. 29 is known as our "extra" day that shows up once every four years! Actually, you can learn some fun facts about Leap Year and Leap Year Day on wikipedia. The reason we have a extra day every four years is because the Earth does not orbit around the sun in exactly 365 days.

Aloha! The Gulfport Recreation Center presents the chance to learn the Hawaiian hula today from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.. Lessons are $10 per class or 5 for $40. Classes run from now until March 28 with a new series April 18 through May 16.

Join the Toastmasters: Have you heard about the new Toastmasters Club in Gulfport? The group just joined and they want to see new faces at their upcoming meetings. Come out any or every Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at The Gulfport Meeting Center, 5021 Tangerine Ave in Gulfport.
