Torch Run: Members of the Gulfport Police Department will help carry the torch in the "Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics" on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. You can take part and run, walk, job or bike by signing up for the event at the Gulfport Police Department and purchasing a Special Olympics T-shirt for $12 from Det. Hahn Pham. Spirit of Gulfport Award: During Tuesday night's meeting Councilmember Sam Henderson nominated Dallas Bohrer, the founder of the Blueberry Patch, for the Spirit of Gulfport Award. Henderson said Bohrer started the Blueberry Patch 35 years ago and deserves to be recognized for his efforts. Councilmembers Jennifer Salmon, Barbara Banno, Dan Liedtke all agreed with the nomination.

Special Guest at The Longhouse: The Longhouse is honored to welcome the Venerable Lama Lhanang Rinpoche, March 22-March 26. Lama Lhanang Rinpoche is a spiritual teacher of the Nyingma Longchen Nying Thig Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
