5 Things to Know Today: City Council Race Recount

The County Canvassing Board will meet on Wednesday at 1 p.m. for a machine recount for the City of Gulfport Councilmember Ward 1 race. That and more in "5 Things to Know Today."

Ward 1 Recount: The County Canvassing Board will meet on Wednesday at 1 p.m. for a machine recount for the City of Gulfport Councilmember Ward 1 race. According to councilmember Barbara Banno the public is allowed to attend the recount at the Supervisor of Elections Office in Largo.

Jennifer Salmon & Dan Liedtke: According to the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office unofficial results, Dan Liedtke won Ward 1 with 936 votes, only 7 more than Incumbent David Hastings. Hastings received 929 votes. In Ward 3, Incumbent Jennifer Salmon received 1,084 votes while James Perry received 693. The winners will be sworn in during the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 20.

So49 Meeting Change: The monthly 49th St. Business Association (So49) is meeting on Wednesday March 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the JSR Training building at 2321 49th St. S. in Pegasus Plaza instead of the Gulfport Neighborhood Center.
