The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay Earns Many Distinctions

Watermark Retirement Communities, Inc., one of the nation’s leading operators of retirement communities, recently presented annual awards recognizing The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay for outstanding performance in operations, services and fiscal management.

The awards were presented at a June celebration at the St. Petersburg retirement community, 1255 Pasadena Ave. South.

The community received Watermark accreditation for attaining more than 90% of Watermark’s 2,500 operational standards in 27 different categories.

It was also recognized with a Platinum Award for solid financial performance.

Breakthrough Awards were earned by Michele Mathews for coaching associate performance and the entire sales team for occupancy results.

Other individuals recognized by Watermark included resident Marilyn Brand and Community Life Director Nicole Bacher, for their extraordinary efforts as faculty members with Watermark University.

Watermark University promotes brain and body fitness for life. Marilyn has taught multiple courses including Learning Basic Hebrew, Biblical Origins of Jewish Holidays, Self-Esteem Seminar, Stress Management, Three S for Success.

Nicole has taught courses including Life of an Olympic Swimmer, Cooking and Beer Connoisseur.

In addition, Operations Director Greg Linnell, Memory Care Director Catoura East and Human Resources Director Michele Mathews all earned companywide distinctions as Directors of the Year, awarded to the director or department manager, by discipline, who has demonstrated leadership excellence by leading his/her department through a successful year in terms of financial performance, standards reviews, and associate and resident satisfaction.
