Touring Exhibit on Non-Violence at USF St. Petersburg

The University of South Florida St. Petersburg presents a touring exhibit on  non-violence as a path to world peace as part of the first campus-wide International Week.

“Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace” runs March 20-29 in the gallery at Harbor Hall on the campus of USFSP. It is free and open to the public.

The exhibit features photos, quotations and information about Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Daisaku Ikeda, a world renowned Buddhist leader from Japan.

The exhibit was created by Morehouse College under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Carter, dean of the Martin Luther King International Chapel. It is intended to inspire people to embrace non-violence as a path to peace.

Dr. Carter will present a public dialogue on "The Efficacy of Non-violence in the 21st Century'' in the gallery from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 20. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
