Patch Minute: Art Walk, Sock Hop, Summer Film Series
There's plenty going on this weekend! Second Saturday Art Walk, Sock Hop, Friday Flicks in the Park are featured in this week's Patch Minute.

Downtown St. Pete: More than two dozen art galleries are taking part in the "Second Saturday Art Walk" in downtown St. Pete. Tour studios and galleries from the Grand Central district to the waterfront. The Art Pool Gallery on Central Ave is taking part. They are also hosting ArtPool's LGBT Pride Art Show from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. The event features video art, sweet treats, runway fashion and surprises by featured artists. Tickets are $15.
Pinellas Beaches: Have you heard about "Friday Flicks in the Park" in Treasure Island. The summer film series begins this Friday with "Dolphin Tale" at 9 p.m. at the Treasure Island Community Center Park. Organizers set up a giant outdoor screen, of course, it's free, and people can being lawn chairs and blankets.

Gulfport: How about spending your Friday night at a good old fashioned Sock Hop? Swing Time presents original rock and roll with the IMPACS at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom from 9 - midnight. Tickets are just $12 per person and there will be door prizes and contests. Also, you're encouraged to dress in 50's attire . . that means poodle skirts for the ladies and fedora hats!
