Hastings Campaign Signs Stolen

Stealing a campaign sign is a misdemeanor theft, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

"It's childish, it’s immature. We have four people running to hopefully help the city and you've got people running around stealing somebody's signs."

Vice Mayor and Ward 1 City Council Incumbent David Hastings calls the recent theft of 13 campaign signs "ridiculous."

Hastings believes at least 13 signs were stolen from area homes and businesses on Saturday Jan. 14. He says a neighbor near Gulfport Blvd. was setting up for a yard sale before 9 a.m. on Saturday when she saw a person drive up to the Gulfport Veterinarian business on Gulfport Blvd. and pull out one of the David Hastings' campaign yard signs. Hastings reported the information to the Gulfport Police Department.
