Gulfport Historical Museum Welcomes New Exhibits

That's right! Stop by the Gulfport Historical Museum and learn more about everyday living in the 1950s, 60s and 1970s in the new fall exhibits.

The Gulfport Historical Society invites everyone to stop by and tour the redecorated and renovated museum this fall. There are several new exhibits including:

  • "You Don't Have to be Rich"
  • "Gulfport's Naprapaths"

While residents spent the summer at the beach or at one of several family-fun events in town, volunteers cleaned, dusted and readied the Gulfport Historical Museum for two months and opened the doors in September. The new exhibits feature guidebooks, maps and brochures about Gulfport from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Did you know in 1953, it cost about $110 a month to live in Gulfport. In the 1970s, a condo at Town Shore could go for $14,495 and a ticket to Disney World was only $5.75.
