Drive through downtown Gulfport this morning and you'll notice a few sandbags blocking doors and at least one sign stating "Closed on Monday." Gulfport, along with the rest of Tampa Bay, is taking no chances in preparing for Tropical Storm Isaac.
With flooding from Tropical Storm Debby still fresh on residents minds, many took advantage of the free sandbags at Gulfport City Hall on Sunday. Hear more from residents in our story, (If you still need sandbags, they are available at Gulfport City Hall at 2401 53rd St. S.)
Today, a handful of residents can be seen strolling along Beach Boulevard. Over in Pass-A-Grille, people are collecting seashells that were washed ashore.

Even though skies may be clearing, Pinellas County officials are urging people to stay out of the water at gulf beaches. Rough surf along the beaches, six- to eight-foot waves and the possibility of rip tides pose a hazard until the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac passes, officials said.
Keep in mind, rain and high winds are still in the forecast. According to the National Weather Service, we have a 90 percent chance of rain with southeast winds 26 to 31 miles per hour.
