St. Petersburg
We're starting this week's Patch Minute in downtown St. Petersburg. Where we have a thrill ride for all ages beginning on Friday! The 8th annual Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg races along the downtown waterfront Friday through Sunday and features 10 races - that's a record for the event. There will be race cars out all day, with the first qualifying race at 6:10 Friday night, four races and qualifying races on Saturday with the main event, the IZOD IndyCar Series Race on Sunday starting at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a Dan Wheldon tribute before the official start on Sunday. Ticket information: Options include one, two and three-day tickets, group discounts for 10 or more, reserved seating or general admission and paddock passes with a wide range of price points, from $20 to $125, for race fans of all ages. Gulfport
Let's head over to Gulfport where we have the City of Gulfport Nautical Flea Market at the Gulfport Municipal Marina on Saturday starting at 7 a.m. Be sure to stop by if you're looking for boating, fishing and other items for anything and everything on the water. And The Longhouse is welcoming a spiritual guide and teacher to Gulfport and will feature yoga courses and simliar events Friday through Monday. Beaches
The Treasure Island Community Center is hosting a Japanese Flower Show & Exhibit for just a $2 donation on Saturday 9 - 5 and Sunday 10 - 4. Stop by and learn about the art of Japanese floral arrangements -- which this year incorporates paper into the designs. Organizers encourage people to reserve your space for classes. Also on the beaches, we have a fabulous home tour in Pass-a-Grille on Sunday, March 25 from 1 - 5 p.m. Rain or Shine Tour six delightful homes in historic Pass-a-Grille including the oldest home built in 1886.
