Gulfport Neighbors held a third citywide clean up on Saturday, gaining momentum and more volunteers.

Gulfport Neighbors is the group responsible for the cleanup efforts that better the community on a monthly basis. From the beach to 49th Street, Gulfport Neighbors pulls enough garbage off the street to make a mountainous heap.

Saturday marked the third cleanup for the group, as volunteers started on 49th Street South and 22nd Avenue. Walgreens is a sponsor of the organization and became headquarters for cleanup volunteers. The city of Gulfport also provided transportation to and from different locations by trolley. In all, 49 volunteers came out to help.

Future cleanups include Dec. 3rd on Beach Boulevard and the 58th Street effort in January to start the new year off right.
