Tampa Flights Delayed Due to Snow in Northeast, West

Planning to escape before the holiday break is over, or are you sending your Christmas guests home?

Before you head out for Tampa International Airport, you may want to check the status of your flight.

TIA has had a number of departing flights listed as delayed or canceled as a major snowstorm hit the West and the Northeast. Incoming flights were also delayed and some cancellations have been logged.

Snow is forecast today, Dec. 26, and Thursday before tapering off, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Potentially heavy snow is forecast in the Northeast and parts of the South, as well. In Florida, the threat of severe thunderstorms has mostly passed and a partly sunny afternoon and mostly clear evening are anticipated, according to the National Weather Service.
