Volunteers Needed to Clean up Clam Bayou, Downtown Gulfport
Tropical Debby's mess in Gulfport has inspired two cleanup events in Gulfport today and tomorrow. Volunteers are asked to stop by Clam Bayou this morning and then lend a hand on Saturday on Shore and Beach Boulevards.
Clam Bayou Cleanup: Friday, June 29 at 8 a.m.
Liz Poloney is helping organize a cleanup event today at Clam Bayou. Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 a.m. ready to pick up trash and debris that was washed into the bayou by Debby. You're asked to bring gloves and trash bags. It's probably wise to wear tennis shoes or other closed-toe shoes. For more information contact Poloney at (727) 366-2264 or email lizpoloney@me.com.

Sandy Duffy is organizing a community cleanup to help beautify downtown Gulfport just in time for the 4th of July Celebration. Volunteers can meet in front of the Industrial Arts Center at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 30. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., so you're encouraged to come when you can.
