Winning Streak Continues for Boca Ciega Girls Flag Football

The Boca Ciega High School Girls' Flag Football team is proving to be unstoppable as they head into a game tonight against Northeast High School, the team they beat 31-25 in triple overtime on March 22.

The Boca Ciega High School Girls Flag Football team is going head to head with perhaps their toughest competitor, Northeast, tonight at 7 at Gibbs High School.

The team is currently 12-0, with an undefeated season and PCAC Championship title under their belts.

The last time that the girls faced Northeast, they won with a score of 31-25 in triple overtime.

The team's 12-0 record also includes a big win at the PCAC Championship game this past Friday. The team won 52-0 against Seminole High School.

Coach Lauren Widener writes, "Boca Ciega High School at the time was 10-0 and Seminole High School was 8-2. It was the first place team in the South playing the first place team in the North!"

Quarterback Liz Hill threw seven touchdowns and scored another one herself that was thrown by Maddie Winningham. La’Shavia Bingham led the team with three  touchdowns and one interception.

Zoi Thimposon had two touchdowns and two interceptions, and Qytiesha Middlebrooks and Jakera Allen scored one touchdown. 

"The girls played great and had fun doing it. They played as a team, and won as a team!," Widener wrote.

The team took home a win on Monday with a final score of 27-0 against Gibbs High School.

"Our QB Liz Hill led the team with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Jakera Allen also added a touchdown," Widener wrote.

Again, everyone is invited to the game tonight at Gibbs High School at 7 p.m. against Northeast.
