You're Invited to Mayor Mike Yakes' Retirement Party!

Let's celebrate with Mayor Mike Yakes as he finally gets a chance to enjoy his retirement! Mayor Yakes is retiring after 27 years of public service following the city elections on Tuesday, March 12. Yakes served as a council member from 1986 to 1991 and was elected mayor in 1991.

Come on out and congratulate Mayor Yakes at his retirement party on Saturday, March 9, from 2 - 6 p.m. at Zoomers Auto Body & Collision, 4919 Tangerine Ave.

Less than two weeks ago city leaders, friends and family members honored Mayor Yakes for his dedication by renaming the Gulfport Recreation Center after him.
