A 39-year-old woman was killed and another injured when a fight at a Lakeland nightclub spilled over to a gas station.

LAKELAND, FL — Lakeland Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that has left one woman dead and another injured.

According to the agency, police were initially called out to Rumors Night Club, 935 E. Memorial Blvd., around 2:01 a.m. Oct. 15 to clear the parking lot after serval fights. When officers arrived, the fights had all broken up.

At 2:16 a.m., however, police were called out to the Chevron gas station at 1615 W. Memorial Blvd. in regard to a shooting. Police say a large crowd was gathered on the west side of the gas station. There officers found Andrea Dixon, 39, lying on her back with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Lakeland Regional Health, but died from her injuries at 3:05 a.m., an email from the agency said.
