Boil Water Notice Lifted In Polk County
A precautionary boil water notice has been lifted in Polk County.
BARTOW, FL — A precautionary boil water notice has been lifted for residents of the Christina Lakes subdivision within the Southwest Region Public Water System. The notice affected about 204 customers.
"Bacteriological water samples collected from the area are free of contamination. We are pleased to inform you that your water supply has been completely cleared for your use," said Polk County Utilities on Monday.
The boil water notice was issued Saturday following a loss of system pressure that occurred during water main repairs in the Christina Lakes subdivision.

Officials said it typically takes about 48 hours to achieve satisfactory results after a boil water notice is issued. Officials added that area water had been flushed as a precaution.
