Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama Rally in Florida on Sunday
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will be joined by President Barack Obama during a Sunday rally in Kissimmee.

KISSIMMEE, FL — Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will appear alongside President Barack Obama Sunday in a last-minute push to secure Florida’s 29 electoral votes on Nov. 8. The two have set a “Get Out the Vote” rally in Kissimmee.
The Nov. 6 rally was announced as Clinton was running neck-and-neck in the polls against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. The Republican surged upward in the polls following an announcement by the FBI on Friday that it was investigating new emails possibly related to Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state.
The news of the inquiry broke Oct. 28 after FBI director James Comey sent a letter to Congressional leaders. That letter has been the subject of heavy criticism since news of its existence hit. The bombshell was dropped just 11 days before the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Clinton’s campaign has also been on the defensive as WikiLeaks continues to dump emails allegedly written by or sent to Clinton campaign staffers. Among the revelations to come out of the WikiLeaks dumps is a $12 million donation from Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to the Clinton Foundation. The Clinton campaign has denounced the WikiLeaks email release, saying the hack represents an effort by the Russian government to influence the American election.
As controversy surrounds the Clinton campaign, the Democrat has watched her lead in the polls dwindle. On Friday, she led Republican challenger Donald Trump by 4.6 percentage points in national polls, according to RealClear Politics. By Wednesday, her lead had dropped to 1.7 percentage points. The number held steady on Thursday morning.

Clinton’s once apparent lead in the Sunshine State has also evaporated. As of Thursday, RealClear Politics said Trump was ahead in Florida by 0.7 percent.
With an eye on regaining a lead in Florida, Clinton’s campaign has been on the ground numerous times in recent days. Obama had two Florida rallies on his schedule Thursday. Clinton has also staged several rallies as have former President Bill Clinton and current Vice President Joe Biden.
Trump has also been bombarded with scandals over the past few weeks. His numbers in national polls dropped sharply following the three presidential debates and the release of a video that showed him making lewd comments about women. Although the video was about a decade old, the New York businessman has also been fending off allegations from women who say he touched them inappropriately.
Most recently, information surfaced that the FBI was looking at a possible financial connection between Trump and Russia. News broke Monday night, however, that no clear link has been found, according to the New York Times.
Hillary Clinton and Obama’s Kissimmee rally is scheduled to take place at Osceola County Stadium, 631 Heritage Park Way, at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6. Doors to the venue will open at noon. Free ticket information is available on the Clinton campaign website.
