Lakeland Man, 26, Killed In Polk City Crash
A 26-year-old Lakeland man was killed in a Monday morning crash on State Road 33.

POLK CITY, FL — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal Monday morning crash that left a 26-year-old Lakeland man dead.
According to the agency, deputies received a call around 6:45 a.m. March 6 from a witness who saw an overturned red pickup on State Road 33, near Van Fleet Road, in Polk City. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Cameron Richardson, the truck’s only occupant, dead. Deputies say it does not appear that Richardson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. No witnesses to the actual crash have been found, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media. It is believed that no other vehicles were involved.

According to the preliminary investigation, it is believed Richardson was heading north on State Road 33 when his truck left the road. Investigators believe he over-corrected, causing his truck to skid, rotate and ultimately flip over before hitting several trees.
