Motorcyclist Killed in Lakeland Crash Identified

A 36-year-old man was killed in a Sunday crash involving a semi-truck and motorcycle.

LAKELAND, FL — The Lakeland Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning crash that left a 36-year-old man dead.

According to the agency, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. Dec. 11 as Jason Douglas Faircloth was approaching the intersection of Drane Field Road and Air Park Drive on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Police say a semi-truck driven by Dennis Allen Coppins, 43, began to turn south onto Air Park Drive at that time.

“Coppins told investigators that he did not see the approaching motorcycle,” an email from the police department said. “Faircloth was unable to stop and both vehicles collided.”
