Polk County Schools: Upcoming Dates You Need to Know About

POLK COUNTY, FL — The clocks have changed, the election’s over and the holidays are fast approaching. With Polk County school kids preparing for more than a few upcoming days off, Patch wanted to help parents keep up.

Here’s a look at some important upcoming dates Polk County parents need to know about as 2016 races to a close:

• Veterans Day – Nov. 11 is a day off for Polk County kids.
• Thanksgiving break – District schools are out of session Nov. 21-25. Kids go back to school on Nov. 28.
• Winter break – Students are off for winter break from Dec. 19 through Jan. 2, 2017. Kids’ first day back to class is Jan. 3.
• 2nd grading period ends – Jan. 12, 2017
• Teacher planning day – Jan. 13, 2017
