Unattended Bag Prompted Florida Poll Evacuation: Reports

An Orange County, Florida, polling place was evacuated Tuesday evening due to a suspicious package.

WINTER PARK, FL — A suspicious package that prompted an evacuation of a Winter Park, Florida, polling place Tuesday evening turned out to be no threat, according to news reports.

It seems someone left a bag behind at a church’s polling place in the small community in Orange County. The bag was reportedly left under a voting booth.

The discovery led to an evacuation, complete with police and fire officials turning out to the scene.

The bag’s owner, however, returned to claim it, enabling voters to return to the polls, Fox 35’s Valerie Boey tweeted.
