Watch: Donald Trump Rallies in Ocala and Lakeland, Florida
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump staged two Florida rallies Wednesday, including one in Lakeland.
LAKELAND, FL — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump continued his Florida campaign push with two rallies Wednesday. Trump first appeared in Ocala and then followed with a stop at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
Fresh off his second presidential debate, Trump turned his attention toward Florida, a critical swing state in the upcoming election. He staged a rally in Panama City Tuesday night, hoping to regain some of the momentum his campaign has lost in recent weeks.
Whether Trump’s Panama City rally swayed voters to his side remains a story for time to tell. What is clear, however, is that Trump made a gaffe on stage that’s since taken on a life of its own. During the Oct. 11 rally, Trump urged people to register to vote and to “make sure you get out and vote Nov. 28.”

While there’s little doubt Democrat Hillary Clinton would appreciate it if Trump supporters turned out 20 days late to the polls, the general election is actually Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Bloopers aside, Trump has taken a beating in national polls in recent weeks. His once neck-and-neck race with Clinton has evaporated with Wednesday’s RealClear Politics average giving the Democrat the lead by 6.2 percentage points.

With the Nov. 8 election drawing ever closer, scandals have been flying fast and furious related to both candidates. Trump took a dive in the polls following the release of a video that shows him making lewd comments about women. Clinton has also faced controversy following a release of what are purported to be excerpts from her Wall Street speeches. One email related to the Wikileaks release reportedly noted Clinton saying, “you need to have a private and public position on policy.”
