A Largo man stole a checkbook from an elderly man to write himself nearly $2,000 worth of forged checks, according to Largo Police.
Nathaniel Dane Bragg, 29, was arrested and charged with forgery, grand theft and grand theft from a person over the age of 65 on April 23, according to Largo Police Department records.
He also was charged with violation of parole stemming from a prior DUI arrest, according to the police report.

Bragg admitted to stealing a checkbook from an unnamed victim, forging the victim's signature on 13 separate checks and making them out to himself; he also admitted to cashing $1,810 worth of checks at a local bank, according to investigators.
Bragg also admitted to stealing checks valued at $30 from a person over the age of 65 from the victim's home, according to police. Bragg confirmed that copies of the forged checks were written by him, the report states.

Bragg was released from Pinellas County Jail after posting $7,000 bond April 30.
