Man Accused of Pulling Fire Alarms, Spraying Extinguishers at Largo Apartments

Jason Michael McCullen, 25, was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor stemming from a May 19 incident at Brittany Bay apartments.

A 25-year-old Largo man was arrested and charged with one felony and one misdemeanor following a noisy incident at Brittany Bay apartments earlier this month.

According to the police report, Jason Michael McCullen, of South Pines Drive, set off at least three fire alarms at the Seminole Boulevard complex in the early morning hours of May 19.

The loud alarms woke residents at around 4:30 a.m. and caused fire department and maintenance personnel to respond.

Multiple residents told the officers they witnessed McCullen pulling the alarms as well as spraying fire extinguishers down the hallways of building #40 of the complex.

When questioned, McCullen denied he set off the alarms and said he never saw smoke or fire, though he did admit he sprayed the extinguishers "just because."

McCullen was arrested and charged with preventing the extinguishing of a fire, a felony, as well as setting a false alarm, a misdemeanor. Jail records show he was released on bond on May 19.
