Welcome to Patch Minute, a preview of big events in the area this weekend.

The 11th annual St. Pete Pride street festival is Saturday, June 28. More than 100,000 people are expected to flock to the free event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 100 businesses (including Patch) and vendors set up on Central Avenue between 21st and 29th streets to support LGBT communities in Pinellas County.

It's one of the biggest events of the year in the Tampa Bay area, and given recent news, the festival is expected to be extra celebratory.

Also be on the lookout for Fourth of July festivities going on in the area in the days ahead.

Enjoy live entertainment including performances by Francesca Giorgianni and Carmen Brandy as well as a fireworks display starting at 6 p.m. in Largo Central Park. Fireworks are at 9 p.m.

Other fireworks celebrations and parades take place all around the county, including in Safety Harbor, Clearwater, Dunedin and Gulfport.
