Smokin' CDs Owner Busted for Selling Spice, Cops Say

William Zaharoff was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, according to Largo Police.

The owner of a Largo smoke shop was arrested and charged with selling synthetic marijuana Thursday afternoon.

After a nearly six-week investigation, William Zaharoff, owner of Smokin' CDs, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, according to Largo Police.

Members of Largo Police's Special Operations Unit and detectives with the Investigative Services Division served a search warrant at 1 p.m. at the East Bay Drive business, Lt. Mike Loux said in a release.

In addition to "spice," other substances were discovered, seized and will be tested. Additional charges could come, Loux said in the release.

The investigation started from a tip to Largo Police Special Operations Unit about the sale of the illegal substance.

Zaharoff, 70, is in jail awaiting trial on $30,000 bond.
