Go Skateboarding Thursday

Skateboarders are usually the ones being kicked off of public property.

On June 21, their culture is celebrated across the nation and Tampa Bay, in honor of Go Skateboarding Day, a holiday for skateboarders. 

here are some alternatives in the area:

What: Ross Norton Skate Team performs a demonstration 

When: Sometime after 9 a.m.

Where: Ross Norton Extreme Skate Park, 1426 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

What: For just $2, people from Dunedin and surrounding cities may join for food, a piñata, raffles and contests. 

When: From 2 to 11 p.m.

Where: Dunedin Stirling Skate Park, 550 Laura Lane, Dunedin

What: Skate Park of Tampa 

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a free barbecue at 1 p.m. and a best trick contest at 2 p.m. Free to skate with a donation to the Boards for Bro's Foundation, which gives skateboards to low income children.
