2 Lanes Of Overpass Road Over Interstate 75 In Pasco County Now Open

PASCO COUNTY, FL — It's been a long time coming, but after nearly two years of construction, drivers can now use the newly constructed Overpass Road over Interstate 75.

Over the weekend, Overpass Road was switched to its new traffic alignment from Old Pasco Road to just east of Boyette Road.

Eastbound and westbound Overpass Road traffic is now on a divided roadway, with one lane open in each direction. Additional lanes in each direction will open later this year.

Drivers are advised to be aware of these changes and watch for workers as construction continues to complete the project.

Traffic signals are currently fully operational at the Overpass Road intersection at Old Pasco Road and Boyette Road.

The ramps to and from I-75 at the new interchange are not yet open. The interchange is expected to be completed in November or December.

This 64.5 million design-build project, which began in October 2020, consists of constructing a new interstate interchange on I-75 at Overpass Road, about 3.5 miles south of State Road 52 in Pasco County, and realigning roads that previously didn't connect for better traffic flow in this quickly developing part of Pasco County.

The new diamond interchange includes a flyover ramp for westbound Overpass Road access onto southbound I-75.

To accommodate the new interchange, Overpass Road is being widened from two lanes to four lanes between the interstate and Old Pasco Road and six lanes between the interstate and Boyette Road.

Additionally, Blair Drive has been realigned to connect with Old Pasco Road and McKendree Road has been realigned to connect with Boyette Road.
