Cigar City Brewpub Opening Near Lutz Soon

Cigar City Brewery is a large part of the brewing business here in the Tampa area, but founder and CEO Joey Redner will soon look to grow the brand beyond beer and into the world of great food.

That's the hope for the new brew pub opening soon just a short drive from Lutz in Northdale.

Originially, Redner hoped to open the Cigar City Brewpub this month. Finishing touches are being applied and staff will begin training soon. Redner says he now hopes to open on April 1. 

The location where the pub will be used to be a 

"It's a large space, the kitchen is enormous," he says. "We tried to take a little of the brewery and bring it in to the space."

Patrons will see lots of barrels used to brew beer mixed with a lot of stainless steel in the interior design, Redner says.

The Northdale Cigar City restaurant is slated to have 250 seats for diners not including the bar. A patio will also be available for those who want to enjoy a cigar.

For the beer geeks, Redner confirmed that there will be unique brews only available at the new location. The brewers will also use a different strain of yeast at the new location, so all beers brewed there will have their own unique taste.
