Contractor To Begin Filling 4-Foot-Deep Hole In Chancey Road Tuesday
The road will remain closed in both directions from 6th Avenue to Copeland Drive until work is complete, possibly as long as 30 days.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL β Zephyrhills drivers will have to continue seeking detours for Chancey Road after Pasco County announced it will begin repairing a 4-foot hole that formed in the road earlier this month.
Construction work is scheduled to begin Tuesday and the road will remain closed in both directions from 6th Avenue to Copeland Drive until work is complete, possibly as long as 30 days, depending on the weather.
The county will post signs directing drivers to detour routes.

The county closed the road May 4 after a 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep depression opened in the northbound lane.
The county called in a geotechnical team to determine the stability of the road and experts have given the approval to make repairs. The county hasn't said if the depression is technically a sink hole.

Construction by county contractor Southern Road & Bridge LLC will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and possibly weekends.
