GET OUT: Weekend Events Preview April 5-7

With a variety of entertainment venues and restaurants in the area, there's no reason to spend the weekend at home. We've put together a list of fun things to do in the Lutz area.

Relay for Life Fundraiser

The GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Women’s Clubs Relay for Life team will host a special screening of “Grease” on Saturday, April 6 at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., as a fundraiser for Relay for Life. The event starts at 5 p.m. with a “Grease” costume contest. Dance lessons will  be offered and vendors will be on site to provide food and refreshments. The pre-show event continues until 8 p.m. The movie starts at 8:15 p.m. The event is free but food and other vendor items will cost money.

Truckin' for a Cure

The Truckin' for a Cure festival will take place Friday, April 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 20735 Leonard Rd., Lutz. The festival will feature food trucks, vendors, live music, face painting and a fire truck display. Money raised will go to the Suzanne Ciani Brain Cancer Foundation.

Music and Coffee

Organic Life, 1900 Oak Grove Blvd., Lutz, hosts musical acts every Friday from 7 to 11 p.m.

Happy Hour at The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place, 16319 N. Florida Ave., Lutz, hosts happy hour from 2 to 6 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.

Bingo at St. Timothy

St. Timothy Catholic Church, 17512 Lakeshore Rd., Lutz, hosts bingo each Friday at 7 p.m. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with food available for purchase (hot dogs, french fries, pizza, desserts). You must be 18 years of age or older to play. All games are played on paper strips and daubers are required.

Princess Tea

Mrs. Tea's Garden, 124 Flagship Dr., Lutz, will host a Royal Fairy Tale Princess Tea featuring Wonderland Princess Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to noon. The cost is $22.95 per person.
