New Child Porn Charges Filed Against FL Detention Deputy: Sheriff

LUTZ, FL — A former Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was arrested and charged Wednesday on new child pornography charges, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Trevor Willis, 33, was initially arrested by PCSO on July 1 and resigned from his position that day.

Detectives with HCSO’s Internet Predator Unit obtained a search warrant for Willis’ home in Lutz after receiving a tip from PCSO following his arrest.

Investigators found additional pornographic material on a social media app linked to Willis, HCSO said.

He was charged with nine new counts of possession of child pornography.

"These vile actions have no place in our community, and the betrayal of trust by someone who swore to protect and serve is deeply disturbing," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "However, I am immensely proud of the collaboration among all the detectives involved. Their thorough investigation and teamwork have brought this criminal to justice, showing the integrity and commitment we uphold in serving our community."
