LUTZ, FL — A 42-year-old Lutz woman faces charges after Florida Highway Patrol troopers say she fled the scene of a crash that occurred on March 22 along U.S. 41 north of State Road 54 in Land O’ Lakes.

According to the patrol, Sheila Renee Withey was driving a Nissan SUV south on U.S. 41 around 9:30 p.m. March 22. Withey, a highway patrol report said, was in the inside lane behind a Toyota pickup driven by Kyle Shawn Sheffield, 19, of San Antonio.

Sheffield slowed for traffic ahead, but troopers say Withey did not. Her SUV struck the rear of Sheffield’s truck.
