6 Armed Fishermen Catch Police Attention In SOBE

MIAMI BEACH, FL β Six armed fishermen caught the attention of police in South Beach on Sunday. The men were openly carrying firearms as they fished along South Pointe Pier. When confronted by police, the fishermen cited Florida's open carry law.
"After reviewing the documents, it was determined they were acting within the law," explained Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department.
Rodriguez said that police posted armed officers at the popular Miami Beach pier.

"The fisherman have been allowed to stay," he explained. "Out of an abundance of caution, we have assigned two MBPD officers to the pier while they remain."
