Security Guard Shoots Friend While Showing Firearm
The shooting occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the garage of the Carriage House Condominiums.
MIAMI BEACH, FL — A security guard apparently shot his friend while showing him his firearm on Monday night, according to Miami Beach police. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the garage of the Carriage House Condominiums. The high-rise building is located at 5401 Collins Avenue in an oceanfront area commonly referred to as Millionaire's Row.
"Very preliminary investigation reveals a security guard may have been showing the firearm to his friend (victim) when an accidental discharge occurred," explained Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department.
Rodriguez said that the friend suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in nearby Miami. Rodriguez did not say if any charges would be filed.
