$15M Scratch-Off Prize Claimed By FL Lottery Player

A Port Orange man claimed a $15 million prize playing the "$15,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier" scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said.

PORT ORANGE, FL — A Volusia County man claimed a $15 million top prize playing the “$15,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier” scratch-off game, Florida Lottery officials said.

John Eichinger Jr., 53, of Port Orange chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of about $8.97 million at Florida Lottery’s Tallahassee headquarters,

Eichinger bought his winning ticket from a Wawa gas station at 1031 Dunlawton Ave. in Port Orange.

The store received a $30,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket.

The $30 scratch-off game launched in September and features four top prizes of $15 million and six prizes of $1 million. The game, which has overall odds of winning of 1-in-2.6, also features more than $489 million in total cash prizes.
