- Winter Park-based chain Jimmy Hula’s is opening its 10th location in New Smyrna Beach. The new restaurant will run by Parkerstark management, according to WKMG. It is one of 25 locations planned along Florida's east coast in the coming years. (Click Orlando)
- Black Magic Pizza is hosting a soft opening pop-up on Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Milk Mart Lazy Lovers Market. The pop-up is in celebration of National Pizza Day this week. The pizza shop is planning to open at RockPit Brewing soon. (Bungalower)
- An Orlando couple is among the 20,000 victims dead in a recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The couple was found holding hands in the rubble. The couple was married in July and planned to start a family. (Fox 35 Orlando)
- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing a $1.5 billon fix to traffic on I-4 in Osceola County. Work will start next year in Central Florida if the project moves forward. It is one of 20 proposals currently being floated by the governor. (WFTV)
- The LGBTQ+ Center of Orlando's Affirmation Station Pop-up Closet program is now providing gender-affirming chest binders at no cost to the public. It is also offering gender-affirming clothing and other items. Walk-ins are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the center. (Orlando Weekly)
