Florida School Bus Crash Kills 1; Students Unharmed: Police
The driver of a car was killed in a crash involving a school bus in Lake County on Wednesday morning.
LAKE COUNTY, FL — A school bus was involved in a fatal accident in Lake County on Wednesday morning.
The driver of a Toyota car died in the crash, which occurred at 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 and Great Egret Drive, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The bus from Lake County Schools attempted to turn left from Great Egret Drive onto northbound U.S. 27 in front of the Toyota, which was traveling southbound. The Toyota hit the left rear of the bus and traveled several hundred feet before going into a retention pond. No injuries were reported from the school bus, which had 17 students on board, police said.

Southbound lanes of U.S. 27 are closed while Florida Highway Patrol investigates the crash.
