Why Roof Repairs Matter, Especially in Florida

In Florida, replacing a roof isn’t just a matter of comfort—it can be a matter of survival. Aging roofs often mean skyrocketing insurance premiums or even dropped coverage, leaving families vulnerable in more ways than one. For many low-income households, the cost of replacing a roof is typically between $10,000 and $20,000, and that is simply out of reach.

That’s where Rebuilding Together Greater Florida steps in. By providing no-cost roof repairs, the nonprofit is helping families break the cycle of neglect, disrepair, and displacement.

“A new roof may seem simple, but for the homeowners we serve, it can be absolutely life-changing,” said Jose Garcia, CEO of Rebuilding Together Greater Florida. “IIt means protection from storms, peace of mind through the night, and the ability to stay in the home they've worked so hard to keep. For many, it's the difference between stability and uncertainty—and that's why this work matters so much.”

Real Impact in Orlando

This isn’t the first time Rebuilding Together Greater Florida has made an impact locally. In 2024 alone, they completed 10 roof repairs within Orlando, partnering with the city to help residents weather Florida’s storms safely.

Their work is more than just repairs—it’s about preserving homes that have been in families for generations, supporting seniors who want to age in place, and keeping neighborhoods intact.

Spread the Word

Do you have an elderly neighbor struggling with roof issues? Know a family that’s been hit hard by rising insurance costs? Share this with them. With only seven spots left, this is a limited-time opportunity to protect a home and a future.

📅 Deadline for all repairs: September 20, 2025
