With less than a month away, the American Lung Association in Florida continues to prepare for their Fight for Air Climb at the iconic Exploria Stadium on February 19th.

The Lung Association celebrates 15 years of the event and is expecting a record number of climbers. An estimated 500 climbers will take on more than 1,000 steps at Exploria Stadium, including law enforcement officers from the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters. Funds from the Fight For Air Climb will help fund lifesaving lung health research, education and advocacy.

“We are thrilled to give our climbers the opportunity to once again experience the excitement of Exploria Stadium first-hand as they climb the stadium steps, pass through the player entrance and dash onto the field to the finish line – all while enjoying the stunning Orlando skyline.” shared Janelle Hom, Executive Director for the American Lung Association. “We are so pleased to include AdventHealth Orlando as the headline sponsor for the Fight For Air Climb” added Hom.

“As a participant and someone impacted by lung disease, I’m not only excited to achieve this physical challenge, but more importantly raise funds for lung health. Because when you can’t breathe, nothing else matters” said Greg Roessler, Event Chair.

Money raised at the Fight For Air Climb will fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies.
