  1. Orlando bar and hospitality industry leaders are raising alarms about an effort to pass ordinances penalizing nightlife in downtown Orlando. "It unfairly penalizes just a few operators to the tunes of hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars a year to police the streets," Orlando Hospitality Alliance Vice President Monica McCown said to WESH. Orlando commissioners said they need more involvement to find potential solutions. (WESH)
  2. Orange County leaders voted Tuesday to approve $1 million to help domestic violence survivors and their families. Stakeholders in the space said more aid is needed to help those suffering. County officials said the program would first cover care for about 50 children and could expand in the future. (WFTV)
  3. Central Florida World War II veteran Richard Overman Sr. celebrated his 105th birthday on Monday. He shared advice on how to enjoy a good life with WKMG, "Stay busy, make your friends, have your fun, I take every day and get as much out of it as I possibly can.” (Click Orlando)
  4. A Seminole County man is facing four arson charges after allegedly setting his own apartment on fire after a dispute with his Homeowners Association (HOA). Officials said the incident happened on Jan. 14 at 265 Crown Oaks Way in Longwood. An affidavit states the suspect said he "started the fire in an act of revenge against the Homeowners Association in charge of his property." (Fox 35 Orlando)
  5. Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man suspected in a shooting in Poinciana on Sunday. Police said the incident happened in the area of Peppermill Circle near Kissimmee. The suspect faces several charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated stalking, according to a release. (Positively Osceola)
