  1. Schmankerl Stub’n is a new German concept coming to downtown Orlando at 131 N. Orange Ave., 104. The restaurant will blend traditional and modern German food. The location was previously Neon Beach, but suffered a huge drop in business after a midnight curfew was passed on bars in downtown by the city. (Bungalower)
  2. Residents of Florida, including those in Orlando, have a few weeks remaining to claim a cut of $23 million that search-engine giant Google has agreed to pay after settling a multistate class action lawsuit. The lawsuit claimed Google shared users' searches with third-party websites without their permission. (Florida Patch)
  3. Midwest-based Potbelly is planning to open its first restaurant location in Central Florida at 2714 E. Colonial Drive in the Colonial Landing shopping plaza. A total of six locations are planned in the area with Sugarland Investment Group, LLC. The plan is part of a nationwide expansion for the chain. (Click Orlando)
  4. City of Orlando and affiliated groups are working to address empty office spaces in downtown Orlando. One idea is to switch from traditional offices to more high-tech serving offices. The Downtown 2.0 Action Plan will reimagine how downtown operates for the future. (WFTV)
  5. Alexander Shaouni, of the Orlando Police Department (OPD), has been relieved of duty and is facing charges as well as an internal review. The office was caught speeding at "80 mph in a posted 45 zone," according to a report from Seminole County Sheriff's office. An arrest report states Shaouni is facing charges of reckless driving, resisting an officer, and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer with their lights and sirens activated. (Wink News)
