Twenty Years After Their Iconic Shows Together, Tom Petty and Pearl Jam Tributes Unite for One-Night

House of Blues Orlando announced a special one-night tribute event honoring the 20th anniversary of the Petty’s “Highway Companion” tour when Tom Petty and Pearl Jam shared concert stages in a rare pairing of rock icons. On Friday, January 9, 2026, acclaimed tribute bands The Broken Hearts: Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Given to Fly – The Pearl Jam Experience will recreate the spirit, sound, and energy of the six-show run of shared dates with Pearl Jam opening.

Both Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Pearl Jam draw heavily from classic rock, roots rock and American rock traditions. The two iconic bands had strong mutual respect and friendship. Pearl Jam members have publicly expressed admiration for Petty’s songwriting and simple but effective use of chords. They have cited Petty as an influence and often play a cover of a Petty song at their concerts.

The House of Blues show with The Broken Hearts and Given to Fly memorializes a moment that forged a crossover between generations of rock fans twenty years ago.
