2 Miami Job Applicants Get Rejected, Steal Purse

2 men dressed in T-shirts and caps stopped by a plant nursery in Miami-Dade looking for jobs. They didn't get them. So they stole a purse.

MIAMI, FL — Two men dressed in T-shirts and baseball caps stopped by a plant nursery in southwest Miami-Dade last month looking for jobs. They didn't get them. So, they stole a purse, according to police.

Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade Police Department said that the failed job search and theft took place around 9 a.m. April 20. The nursery is located at 18505 SW 192 Street.

"The two subjects arrived at the business and solicited work," explained Pinkard. "After being advised there was no work, the subjects walked toward the exit and removed the victim’s purse from a table."

Surveillance video of the two men showed them smiling as they made their way around the nursery.

One of the men was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, approximately 20-30 years of age, 155 pounds and wearing a blue baseball cap, light grey T-shirt and blue jeans.

The other was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 135 pounds, approximately 19-25 years of age and wearing a grey baseball cap, red T-shirt and tan pants.

Police said the men fled in a green Chrysler, possibly with a Michigan license plate.
