2 People Trapped After Crashing Into Palm Tree

Two people were extricated from a pickup truck on Saturday after the vehicle crashed into a palm tree.

MIAMI, FL — Two people were extricated from a pickup truck on Saturday after the vehicle crashed into a palm tree, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. The Technical Rescue Team was called in to free the two victims. The crash occurred at SW 125 Avenue and SW 40 Street.

Lt. Felipe Lay of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said that the victims were taken to a trauma center in critical condition.

"MDFR was able to safely extricate the two passengers that were ultimately treated on scene and transported to the west end trauma hospital," according to Lay.

He stressed that motorists must wear seat belts and exercise caution during light rain storms.

"The roads become very slippery," he said.
