Florida Bank Robber Foiled By Unseasonable Dress
Alert bank employees with a keen appreciation of fashion appear to have foiled an attempted bank robbery on Thursday.

PARKLAND, FL — Alert bank employees with a keen appreciation of fashion appear to have foiled an attempted bank robbery Thursday based on the would-be robber's unseasonable dress in the Florida heat.
“If you see someone on a balmy summer day trying to enter a bank in flannel and wearing a ski mask, you should call 9-1-1 from a safe distance,” advised FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock of Miami.
That's exactly what appears to have happened on Thursday when a man wearing such unseasonable garb in the Florida heat was turned away from the Mercantil Bank branch at 8017 N University Drive. The bank is located north of Miami.

"The suspect approached the front doors of the bank, attempted to enter and was unable to gain entry," according to Leverock and agency spokesman Jim Marshall. "Investigators believe a robbery was thwarted due to alert bank officials."
The nearby Coral Springs Police Department later caught up with the alleged bandit, who was identified as 46-year-old David Licht of Coral Springs.
Licht is now facing Federal charges and was expected to make his initial appearance in federal court on Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
He is likely to be wearing a jumpsuit.
