Speeding Crackdown Planned In Palmetto Bay

Palmetto Bay officials said that the speeding crackdown will be in effect during morning and evening rush hours.

PALMETTO BAY, FL — Village officials warned residents and motorists alike Tuesday they are planning a crackdown on speeders. Those who fail to heed the warning do so at their own risk.

"When it comes to driving in the village, a heavy foot isn't taken lightly with police," officials said in an email to residents.

Palmetto Bay officials said that the Comprehensive Improvised Traffic Enforcement Initiative or CITE will be in effect during morning and evening rush hours.

"Using their own records and residents' input, officials have assigned officers at known trouble spots during both morning and evening rush hours."

Fines range from $151.00 up to $369.00 plus points.
