Dunedin Teacher, Clearwater Fire & Rescue Receive Random Act Of BBQ

DUNEDIN, FL — Sonny's BBQ Chief Kindness Officer Tara Boyle of the Palm Harbor Sonny's BBQ restaurant and her team spread kindness and barbecue meals Friday to honor and recognize community members who have gone above and beyond to help others and impact the lives of our neighbors.

The first Random Act of BBQ, a program that accepts nominations for deserving community members, was a stop at Clearwater Fire and Rescue Station 45.

Following the delivery of a BBQ feast, Boyle and her team headed to San Jose Elementary School in Dunedin to recognize teacher Adam Brown. Brown was nominated by parent and colleague Jenna Packer.

"Mr. Brown is a superb teacher. My daughter is in his class and has been looking forward to having him the past four years," Packer said. "He does an excellent job of establishing a classroom culture that teaches acceptance and responsibility. I am also honored to be his coworker. Adam is always willing to lend a helping hand and support to other teachers. He brings a positive influence to our school community, and at the very least he deserves a feast."

"Every time we visit a community member with a Random Act of BBQ, I have to pinch myself," said Boyle. "Honoring people like Mr. Brown and the Fire and Rescue team brings me the greatest joy. Their passion for helping others should never go unnoticed. They do so much for us day in and day out so this is our way of saying 'thank you' for their acts of kindness."
