Erase PTSD Now To Host Inaugural Charity Golf Outing
To highlight PTSD Awareness Month in June, the nonprofit aims to increase research funding, awareness and treatment of PTSD.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and the nonprofit Erase PTSD Now will be hosting its inaugural charity golf outing Friday, June 16 at the Lake Worth Beach Golf Club (1 Seventh Avenue N.) in Lake Worth, Florida, starting at noon. The goal of this event is to increase research funding and awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), in addition to accessibility of the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) treatment for the disorder.
According to Mental Health America’s recent report, more than 44 million Americans suffer from a mental health condition. Sadly, a mental illness diagnosis, and more specifically, PTSD, continue to carry stigmas with them.
Dr. Eugene Lipov, M.D., a Ukrainian-born and Chicago-based board-certified anesthesiologist, and pain specialist, adopted SGB for the treatment of PTSD, and has been successfully treating patients since 2006 out of his Oak Brook, Illinois office. The procedure delivers ultrasound-guided injections of local anesthetic into the stellate ganglion, a nerve bundle in the neck, to reset a patient’s fight/flight system to its pre-trauma state. The procedure is minimally invasive, takes only minutes to perform, and can have an effect in as little as half an hour.

“There are many medical procedures that can be used to treat multiple conditions,” said Dr. Lipov. “I strongly believe individuals suffering from PTSD should hold onto hope because a successful and viable treatment is now available through SGB.”
SGB is not covered by insurance in the U.S. and there is currently a waiting list for PTSD survivors to receive the treatment. Dr. Lipov and Erase PTSD Now seek to raise funds for patients to be able to take advantage of the SGB procedure.

The event will offer a beautiful afternoon of golf, food, drinks, a silent auction and awards. Event participation will also go a long way in supporting veterans, members of the military and trauma survivors by providing treatment, funding for additional research and overall awareness regarding PTSD and other mental health issues and disorders. Erase PTSD Now is seeking golf enthusiasts to participate, along with sponsors and donated items for their silent auction.
